Rauris - The golden resort in Salzburger Land!The resort Rauris, one of the oldest communities in the Alps, formerly known as “Gaissbach”, is located in the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park at 950 m above sea level. Originally, gold mines attracted visitors to this idyllic village in Salzburg Land, as gold washing was the main source of income for the inhabitants up until the end of the twenties. Nowadays, the picturesque resort is characterised by tourism; however, it hasn’t lost any of its traditional charm. Numerous historical buildings and traditional events take visitors back in time and allow them to experience the resort’s history.
