Culture Czech Republic
The Czech Republic is very rich on tradition and culture, which is primarily due to its long and eventful history. Traditional costumes are still often worn at many festivals in rural areas. The country offers a wide spectrum of cultural facilities, e.g. museums, theatres, galleries and concerts. Above all in Prague, you will find museums for different topics, from the National Museum to the National Gallery to the Jewish Museum. Particularly well known is the Prague Spring Music Festival, which takes place annually on 12 May. Many Czech authors, such as Franz Kafka and Milan Kundera have strongly influenced the literature. The Czech Republic is also home to famous composers Bedřich Smetana and Antonín Dvořák, who influenced the 19th century music world. An important part of the culture is the world-famous architecture from the most diverse epochs, e.g. the Prague Hradschin, the Prague Veitsdom or the white castle at Ostrau. Film classics such as "Three Nuts for Cinderella" are still unforgettable. The country has also taken a high position in sports, with ice hockey the undisputed number one sport.
