Mariánské Láznì - spa resort with tradition!
All well-known spa and health resort Mariánské Lázne was founded at the beginning of the 19th century, when healing springs were found. Many famous figures have visited the impressive city, such as Goethe, Chopin, and Mark Twain. The 40 mineral springs which all originate directly in the resort offer ideal conditions for spa treatments, whereby the resort has grown to become the Czech Republic's second largest spa destination. A mild climate and the lower location on a soft mountain side add to the recreational atmosphere. Many ferruginous springs which surface in the wells dominate the towns appearance. They were all named after their discoverers, famous people or their actual geographical location, such as e.g. the Abrosius spring, Cross spring, Karoliner spring or the Forest spring. Especially impressive is the cast-iron spa colonnade construction and the adjacent ''singing'' fountains, which present a water spectacle accompanied by music, which attracts many interested visitors, particularly at night.
