Travel deals Fehmarn - a fresh holiday breeze!
When the sea gulls call, the sea breeze blows, and the air has a hint of salt, then you've arrived on holiday to the Baltic Sea. Typically fantastic warm weather, kilometres-long sand beaches, manicured bike paths on the dykes, and the well-maintained elegant resort architecture of splendid times past lure in countless guests every year to the popular sea. In comparison to its neighbouring sister to the West, the North Sea, the Baltic is characterized by a somewhat milder climate. Additionally, you'll also find the health-beneficial bracing climate. For this reason, countless spa oases have settled down on the Baltic coast where you can leave behind the stress of the every-day store up energy and strength. Re-feuling is not a bad idea, as when you've finished your spa programme, a number of other activities await you, like biking, beach walks, kite flying, or surfing. The fruitful and upward growing backlands with the bordering Mecklenburger Lake District is protected from approaching waves of the sea by the sand- beach grass-covered dunes. The 185 km² island has about 78 km of coastline and is linked to the mainland by the Fehmarnsundbrücke bridge. The island is also famous for the crow's route train connection which is linked by a ferry between the ferry train station Puttgarden and the Danish Rødby. The island is also very diverse in its landscape and offers an interesting mix of dunes, pristine fishing resorts with red brick houses, long white beaches, and jagged cliffs.
