The Weissenhäuser Strand is one of the most famous holiday centres on the Baltic Sea and is directly on the coast just approx. 10 km from Oldenburg in Holstein. The Baltic Sea resort is a holiday park without high-rises on the Hohwachter Bay, in a dune landscape unique for the Baltic Sea. An incredible wooded cliff connects to the far-reaching, fine-sand beach. The resorts Laboe and Grömitz as well as the cities Kiel, Lübeck, and Hamburg are great day-trip destinations in the region. Also worthwhile is a visit to the nearby island Fehmarn, or to the fun park ''Hansa-Park'' in Sierksdorf, about 35 km away.
